When you want your virtual agent to ask something as part of a Flow you can configure an action to perform an Ask.
The first part of the ask action is always the same and comprises the following parameters:

Type
type of input for this ask (see input types below)
Field name
conversation object to stored the answer in
Question
initial question, e.g.: 'What color do you like?'
Try again
repeating question, e.g.: 'Please select the color you like'
Add condition to action
to configure when or when not to execute this action
The second part is dependent on which type of ask you selected. The following types are supported. Click on each type to read about the additional parameters and details.

open question (expecting free text; optional quick replies)
closed question (expecting predefined choices)
